As a writer it is your duty to write. Nobody’s going to be there to pressure and push you around, but sometimes it could be hard to get into the mood to write on your own. There are many distractions out there, which could be the internet, the television or an interesting book. It might be hard to keep yourself away from these distractions.
Below are a few steps you can take, which will help you focus on your writing and keep the distractions at bay:-
1. Take a book and a pen or get your laptop battery completely charged and head for the nearest park. This is one of the best places to write, as you will be away from all modern day distractions.
2. Another place you could go is the library. Library is one place where there are no distractions. Everybody’s quiet and this will let you focus on your work.
3. Reward yourself- have milestones while you write and every time you reach a milestone that you have made, you can reward yourself, this could be 30 minutes of TV or something on the internet or anything else you like.
4. Think about what is going to happen if you don’t do it. May be you will lose a client, may be you will lose some money, maybe you will lose some readers, etc. This way of thinking about things that could affect you in the long run, will get you really motivated to write your content.
5. Make a plan and stick to it. Tell yourself that by a specific time you plan to finish writing something. If you stick to this you can be sure of writing without distracting yourself.
6. Listen to some pleasant instrumental music, as it will calm you down and will get you in the mood to write. Pleasant soothing music will also improve the flow of your writing.
