Content marketing is one of the most powerful forms of marketing at the moment, but for it to work you need to follow a well formulated plan with proper aims and proper content. Below is a list of different forms of content you can use to have an effective marketing strategy:-

1. Blogs: A blog should be the heart and soul of your content marketing strategy. You need to have a blog where you post at least 3 to 4 times a week. And the content you post here shouldn’t be self promoting content which shows the readers a problem and the best solution being your product or service. The content here should allow your readers to solve their problems by themselves.

You don’t need to give away all your secrets here, but you should give away many good ideas and techniques, as it’s important that you display your expertise.

2. Videos: Using videos is a great way to communicate with your audience. A short two to five minute video can speak a thousand words and make complicated subjects look extremely simple. Also a video can give your readers a personal touch. Videos let you make a deeper connection with the reader. So make sure you include videos as part of your content marketing strategy.

3. White Papers: Problem solving white papers should be a part of your content marketing strategy. There are two reasons why white papers are important:-

a) They speed up the slow process of content marketing. White papers unlike regular content in the form of blogs and videos have a marketing message in the form of a brochure at the end. This makes them very persuasive and can help you speed up slow content marketing.

b) They can help you build up your mailing list: Newsletters are an important part of content marketing. Normally it can be hard to get people to sign up for your newsletter, but offering a free gift like a problem solving white paper, will convince readers to sign up to your newsletters.

4. Newsletters: Newsletters are one of the most important parts of content marketing. 80% of everyday visits to a blog or a website are new visits. If you want to improve on this and get repeat visits you need to make sure that you regularly email your clients with fresh content and ask them to visit your website again, to take a look at something new or check out your latest offers.

5. Social Media: Social media in the form of micro-blogging is one of the best ways to share fresh new content. Twitter, Facebook, Google+ are places where people share and look for interesting content. If you want to promote your content you need to make sure that you integrate it with social media sites like Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, etc.

So make sure you include all these forms of content, in your content marketing strategy and soon you will start to see the results.
